Metallica to mark Mohegan Sun Arena milestone with exclusive two-night event

James Hetfield of Metallica performs on stage at Lincoln Financial Field during the M72 World Tour. Philadelphia^ PA USA - May 25^ 2025

Metallica is set to headline a special two-night celebration at Mohegan Sun Arena this fall, honoring the venue’s 25th anniversary with concerts on November 19 and November 21, 2026.

The shows will follow the band’s popular “No Repeat Weekend” format, meaning fans can expect completely different setlists and opening acts each night. Suicidal Tendencies will kick things off on November 19, while Spiritbox takes the stage as the opener on November 21. Both performances begin at 8 p.m.

These concerts mark a major moment for both the band and the venue. Not only will it be Metallica’s first time performing at the arena, but it will also be their first show in Connecticut since 1998—and their only Northeast appearances scheduled for 2026.

Jeff Hamilton, the arena’s president and general manager, said in a statement: “Metallica’s first-ever performance at Mohegan Sun Arena is a truly special moment as we celebrate the venue’s 25th anniversary. The 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena has been home to so many unforgettable moments, hosting more than 3,000 events and welcoming over 15 million guests in its history. We couldn’t be more excited to honor that legacy by welcoming one of the most iconic Rock bands ever and celebrating this milestone with fans.”

The band echoed the sentiment, adding: “We hope to see you there as we join a long list of artists who have performed at the arena, including Bruce Springsteen, Prince, Lady Gaga, Chris Rock, Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Joel, Beyoncé, and many more. Twenty-five years and over 3,000 events later, we’re honored to help celebrate this milestone.”

Beyond Connecticut, Metallica continues to stay busy globally. The group recently unveiled a sold-out residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, expanding it due to overwhelming demand. Before that, they’ll tour Europe alongside acts like Gojira and Pantera.

Presales begin April 8, followed by additional early access opportunities on April 9. General ticket sales open April 10 at 10 a.m. ET, with single-night tickets and two-day packages available. Remaining tickets may also be purchased at the venue box office starting April 11.  For details head HERE.
