HOMETOWN: Ironton, Ohio but I’ve been a Kentucky boy since 1988.
HOBBIES/SPORTS: Performing Live with the band ‘DeadAir Dennis and Bryan Himes Experience’ around Lexington and Central Kentucky. (in other words getting on stage and making a fool of myself), Home Improvement fun (somebody’s gotta do it!), Softball-Tennis-Volleyball (hey, if it involves balls…uh, nevermind). Doggie Daddy to ‘River’, Dogs are the best! Married to Mrs. DeadAir who you may see taking photos around the area for ‘Tops in Lex’, and Driving my Jeep Wrangler (thank you Bob Allen Motor Mall), Keeneland & Horses. And of course, ‘Concerts’!
BANDS/ARTISTS I’VE MET: Aerosmith, Metallica, U2, Tyler Childers(!), Sting, Sammy Hagar & Van Halen, Def Leppard, Elvis Costello, ZZ Top, KISS, and yes, Robert Plant. (here’s the kicker: they were all amazing people.)
FAVORITE FOODS: Yes, please, Everything! Although I do try to eat healthier these days.
FAVORITE ARTISTS: Everything I play on 92.1 But, (and here’s where it gets weird) I also LOVE Tom Waits, The Patti Smith Group, Kate Bush, Bob Dylan, Tori Amos and The Cure.
COCKTAIL: Are you twisting my arm?! I get thirsty just thinking about it. Let’s just say I drink a lot of coffee.
VACATION SPOT: Ireland was my absolute favorite.
MOVIES: The Classics! Especially the gritty black and white ones from the 40’s where the dame talks the chump into doing something he regrets, and ANYTHING with Alfred Hitchcock’s name on it. And did you know the final scene in ‘The Asphalt Jungle’ was shot just outside Lexington?
TV: Turner Classic Movies, Bengals Football, Netflix. And chill. I like Amazon Prime too. And the local news.
FAMILY: Married to Mrs. DeadAir, and our darling daughter doggie ‘River’.
BRUSH WITH GREATNESS THAT DIDN’T GO WELL: I survived an encounter with a serial killer. More of a brush with ‘not-so-greatness’ that went as well as it could! True story, I’ll tell it sometime…
